The second year studio placed and emphasis on diagrams and structure to house a gallery space for the project’s site, The Row DTLA. The design began with the analysis of various warehouses in the greater Los Angeles area, in order to find a beauty and appeal in the generic and ordinary. Through various design strategies and review of structural integrity of the market Santa Caterina in Barcelona a Museum and gallery space was designed that incorporated culture which tied into the surrounding site and community of DTLA.
